Job Description

Intact Insurance is excited to offer a fantastic entry-level opportunity for a Vehicle Damage Estimator (Trainee) to join our team in Abbotsford. No prior experience in vehicle damage assessment is required! We are seeking motivated individuals with a strong desire to learn, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. As a Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive paid training, learning all aspects of vehicle damage estimation, from initial assessment to final report generation, utilizing cutting-edge tools and technology. This is a full-time, on-site position designed to build your expertise from the ground up and set you on a successful career path.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all aspects of our comprehensive training program.
- Learn to accurately assess vehicle damage and prepare detailed repair estimates.
- Shadow experienced estimators and claims adjusters to understand the full claims process.
- Develop proficiency in using industry-standard estimating software and tools.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, repair shops, and internal teams.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all estimates and assessments.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance knowledge of vehicle technology and repair methodologies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with learning new software.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or technical training is an asset, but not required.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Familiarity with automotive mechanics or body repair (even as a hobby) is a plus.
