Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Sporting Goods Equipment Mover to join our team in Woodstock, GA. This role is crucial for maintaining an organized and efficient store environment, ensuring that merchandise is handled safely, organized effectively, and readily available for our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the movement and organization of various sporting goods equipment, requiring physical stamina and a keen eye for detail in a fast-paced retail setting. This is a hands-on position that supports our sales team and contributes directly to a positive customer shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and move sporting goods equipment, including bulky and heavy items, between receiving areas, stockrooms, and the sales floor.
- Efficiently organize and maintain the stockroom and sales floor inventory, ensuring products are correctly shelved and accessible.
- Assist with the receiving, unpacking, and processing of new merchandise shipments, including verifying contents against invoices.
- Support sales associates by ensuring that products are readily available and merchandised according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all areas, paying close attention to aisleways and storage.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and operational policies to prevent accidents and ensure a secure workplace.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to repeatedly lift and move heavy merchandise, up to 50 lbs, throughout a shift.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic understanding of inventory organization and stock management principles.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand instructions.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail, warehouse, or physically demanding environment.
- Familiarity with various sporting goods equipment and outdoor recreation products.
- Ability to operate basic material handling equipment such as hand trucks or pallet jacks (training can be provided).
