Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Warehouse Architect to join our dynamic data engineering team in Denver, CO. This is a critical role that will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing robust, scalable, and high-performance data warehousing solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and optimal performance for various analytics and reporting initiatives across the organization. This position requires deep expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, cloud data platforms, and a strong understanding of healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level data warehousing solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
- Define and enforce data governance standards, best practices, and architectural principles for the data warehouse.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and application development teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various source systems into the data warehouse.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and junior architects.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to enhance our data platform capabilities.
- Monitor data warehouse performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) in all data warehousing activities.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, models, and processes.
- Lead the migration of on-premise data warehouses to cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
Required Skills
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and data architecture.
- Expertise in dimensional modeling, Kimball methodologies, and data mart design.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with various relational and NoSQL databases.
- Extensive experience with at least one major cloud data platform (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT tools and techniques (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Informatica, Talend).
- Demonstrated experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in the healthcare industry and familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
- Certifications in cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Snowflake Certified Advanced Associate).
- Experience with data governance and master data management (MDM) principles and tools.
- Knowledge of data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
