Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Watchmaker to join our esteemed team in Brisbane. This is a unique opportunity for a talented professional with a passion for horology and a meticulous eye for detail to work with some of the most prestigious luxury watch brands in the world. The successful candidate will be responsible for the expert repair, restoration, and maintenance of high-end timepieces, ensuring they meet the exacting standards of both our clients and the manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, disassembly, cleaning, repair, and reassembly of mechanical and quartz movements for luxury watches.
  • Conduct precise timing adjustments and regulation to ensure optimal accuracy.
  • Undertake case and bracelet repairs, polishing, and restoration.
  • Perform water resistance testing and ensure proper sealing.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and order necessary components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure workshop environment.
  • Adhere strictly to brand-specific guidelines and quality control standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team as required.
  • Document all work performed accurately and thoroughly.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of new technologies and techniques.

Required Skills

  • Formal watchmaking qualification (e.g., WOSTEP, SAWTA, BHI)
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in repairing luxury mechanical watches.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostics, repair, and servicing of complex movements.
  • Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to microscopic detail.
  • Strong understanding of horological principles and fine mechanics.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach.
  • High level of professionalism and dedication to quality craftsmanship.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific high-complication movements.
  • Brand certifications from major luxury watch manufacturers (e.g., Rolex, Patek Philippe, Omega).
  • Experience working in a luxury retail environment.
  • Knowledge of various materials and finishes used in high-end watchmaking.
  • Customer service skills for occasional client interaction.
