Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Manager to join our team, focusing primarily on evening hours and administrative tasks. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our dojo, ensuring a positive experience for all students and parents. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day administrative duties, handling student inquiries, scheduling, membership management, and supporting the Head Instructor. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and an interest in promoting a healthy, disciplined environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations during evening hours, including greeting students and visitors, answering phones, and responding to emails.
- Handle student registration, membership renewals, and payment processing.
- Maintain accurate student records and manage the dojo's scheduling system.
- Assist with inventory management of uniforms, equipment, and other retail items.
- Support the Head Instructor with class preparation and logistical needs.
- Ensure the dojo facilities are clean, organized, and welcoming for all members.
- Coordinate and promote dojo events, workshops, and special classes.
- Address student and parent inquiries or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform end-of-day closing procedures and prepare daily reports.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative or customer service role.
- Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with CRM or membership management software.
- Availability to work evening hours (e.g., 3 PM – 9 PM) and some weekends.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a martial arts dojo, fitness center, or educational institution.
- Basic understanding of martial arts principles or a willingness to learn.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
