Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Horologist / Master Watchmaker to join our esteemed team in Scunthorpe. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with extensive experience in the repair, service, and restoration of a wide range of mechanical and quartz timepieces, including prestigious luxury brands. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive servicing, repair, and restoration of mechanical and quartz watches, including complex complications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot watch movements, cases, and bracelets with precision.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment for intricate watchmaking tasks, including timing, casing, and sealing.
- Order and manage spare parts, ensuring authenticity and quality.
- Maintain meticulous records of work performed and parts used.
- Adhere to strict quality control standards and brand-specific repair guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior watchmakers, if applicable.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to provide accurate repair assessments and timelines.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and brand-specific training.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Master Watchmaker or Horologist.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and quartz movements, including complex complications.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with a full range of watchmaking tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of repairs.
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- WOSTEP, BHI, or equivalent international watchmaking certification.
- Experience working with luxury watch brands (e.g., Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Breitling).
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus, though not required.
- Previous experience in a workshop setting with a high volume of diverse repairs.
