Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Research Nurse to join our growing clinical research team in Harrogate. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the successful execution of clinical trials, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to medical advancements and directly impact future healthcare treatments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and screen potential study participants according to protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Obtain informed consent from participants, ensuring full understanding of the study process.
  • Perform clinical assessments, sample collection, and administer investigational products as per protocol.
  • Accurately collect, record, and maintain study data in case report forms (CRFs) and electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
  • Monitor participant safety and well-being, reporting adverse events promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Principal Investigators, sponsors, and other research team members.
  • Provide education and support to study participants and their families.
  • Manage study materials and equipment, ensuring proper storage and calibration.

Required Skills

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult branch).
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration clinical nursing experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic IT applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in clinical research or a research-focused role.
  • Current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification.
  • Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
  • Knowledge of various therapeutic areas relevant to current clinical trials.
