Job Description
Cleanaway is seeking a dedicated and reliable Street Sweeper Offsider to join our Bunbury team. As a Street Sweeper Offsider, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of Bunbury’s streets and public areas. You will work closely with our experienced Street Sweeper Operators, assisting them with various tasks to ensure efficient and effective operations. This position offers comprehensive on-the-job training, making it ideal for those without prior experience in the waste management industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Street Sweeper Operator with daily routes and tasks.
- Conduct pre-start and post-start checks on equipment as directed.
- Monitor the sweeping process, ensuring thorough coverage and effective debris collection.
- Safely guide the street sweeper through designated areas, especially in complex or high-traffic zones.
- Perform manual litter collection and debris removal as required.
- Maintain clear communication with the operator and team members.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of the street sweeper.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid C-class driver's license (manual preferred).
- Current White Card (Construction Induction).
- Previous experience in outdoor work or labouring roles.
- Familiarity with Bunbury local area.
