Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Event Bumping Assistants to join our crew, specializing in the setup and teardown of theatre and event equipment. This is a hands-on role involving the physical movement of stage sets, lighting rigs, sound equipment, and other production gear, primarily during night hours to accommodate event schedules. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of theatre and event equipment from trucks and storage facilities.
  • Help in the assembly and disassembly of stage sets, lighting trusses, sound systems, and other production elements.
  • Follow instructions from production managers and crew chiefs to ensure efficient and safe setup/teardown.
  • Safely operate manual handling equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during all stages of event production.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet tight deadlines and ensure smooth event transitions.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) consistently.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability, especially for night shifts.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to various event requirements.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manual labor, warehousing, or physically demanding roles (desirable but not essential).
  • Current driver's license and own reliable transport.
  • First Aid certification (advantageous).
