Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Government Professional to join our team in Mildura. This role focuses on supporting government initiatives and projects within high-demand industries vital to regional growth, such as agribusiness, renewable energy, and regional infrastructure. You will contribute to policy analysis, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement, playing a key role in delivering strategic outcomes for our government clients and the Mildura community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on policy frameworks, industry trends, and socio-economic data relevant to high-demand sectors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of government programs and projects aimed at regional development and economic growth.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and briefing papers for senior stakeholders and government clients.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including local government, industry bodies, community groups, and private sector partners.
- Provide project management support, including tracking progress, managing timelines, and identifying potential risks.
- Contribute to the formulation of strategic advice and recommendations for government decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant government policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated understanding of Australian government structures and policy processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Business, Regional Development, or a related field.
- Experience working with or for government agencies or in a consulting capacity advising public sector clients.
- Familiarity with regional development challenges and opportunities in Victoria.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
