Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and enhancement of our prestigious 18-hole championship golf course. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of course management, from turf health and irrigation systems to landscaping and staff leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive turf management programs for greens, fairways, tees, and roughs.
- Supervise, train, and manage a team of golf course maintenance staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage and maintain the irrigation system, ensuring optimal water usage and turf hydration.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of all golf course equipment.
- Develop and adhere to annual budgets for maintenance operations, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Implement and monitor integrated pest management (IPM) programs.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding environmental practices and safety.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Golf Professional to ensure course playability and member satisfaction.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in golf course management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in turfgrass management, pest and disease identification, and soil science.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot irrigation systems.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) designation or actively working towards certification.
- Experience with advanced golf course management software and technology.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Experience working with a diverse, international team.
