Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Martial Arts Dojo Assistant Manager with a strong administrative focus to join our team for evening hours. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our dojo during peak times, handling front desk operations, managing student inquiries, processing enrollments, and supporting instructors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for creating a positive environment for our students and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee evening front desk operations, including greeting students and visitors.
  • Manage student registration, membership renewals, and payment processing.
  • Answer phone calls and emails, providing information about classes, schedules, and programs.
  • Maintain an organized and clean dojo environment, including common areas and changing rooms.
  • Assist instructors with class preparation and minor administrative tasks as needed.
  • Handle merchandise sales and inventory tracking.
  • Resolve student and parent inquiries or concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Assist with scheduling, record-keeping, and database management.
  • Ensure compliance with dojo policies and safety protocols during evening hours.
  • Support marketing efforts by distributing promotional materials and assisting with social media updates.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., MS Office Suite, Google Workspace).
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability and punctuality for evening shifts.
  • Basic math and cash handling skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a martial arts, fitness, or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with membership management software.
  • Basic understanding of martial arts terminology or culture.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
