Job Description

Greystar is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Property Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Decatur, GA. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn, even if you have no prior experience. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians, learning the ins and outs of property upkeep and contributing to a positive living experience for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance technicians with a variety of repair and maintenance tasks throughout the property.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs under supervision.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on various systems and equipment.
- Handle groundskeeping duties, including litter pick-up, pressure washing, and maintaining common areas.
- Help prepare vacant units for new residents, including minor repairs and cleaning.
- Respond to routine service requests and assist residents with minor issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and eagerness to learn about more complex equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- No prior experience in property maintenance is required – full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Prior experience in a customer service-oriented role.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols.
