Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Qualified Butcher to join our dynamic team in Campbelltown. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of meat quality, preparation, and presentation across both our supermarket and specialty butchery operations. You will be responsible for providing expert advice to customers, maintaining immaculate display cases, and adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of meat cutting, preparation, and presentation, including boning, trimming, slicing, and grinding.
- Ensure high standards of product quality, freshness, and visual appeal in meat displays.
- Provide exceptional customer service, offering expert advice on meat selection, preparation, and cooking methods.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and OHS regulations.
- Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and minimize waste.
- Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with receiving and storing meat deliveries.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices as required.
- Process special customer orders and requests.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Qualified Butcher, with formal qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Meat Processing).
- Demonstrated expertise in various meat cuts, preparation techniques, and product knowledge.
- Strong understanding and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP principles).
- Excellent knife skills and ability to operate butchery equipment safely.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and teamwork.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in both supermarket and specialty butchery settings.
- Additional certifications in food safety or retail meat processing.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
