Job Description

Are you passionate about the land, livestock, and looking to build a career in agriculture? Northern Tablelands Pastoral Group is offering an incredible opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Station Hand. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience in farming or ranching, as comprehensive training will be provided on all aspects of station operations. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cattle and sheep management, property maintenance, machinery operation, and develop essential rural skills. This role offers a unique chance to learn from experienced professionals, contributing to the success of a well-established pastoral group while enjoying the rewarding lifestyle of regional Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily livestock management, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal health.
  • Participate in mustering, yard work, and livestock movements under supervision.
  • Learn and assist with fence maintenance and repair.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (tractors, quad bikes, etc.) after receiving training.
  • Undertake general property maintenance tasks, including weed control and minor repairs.
  • Contribute to pasture management and water infrastructure upkeep.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and animal welfare standards.
  • Engage in continuous learning and skill development.
