Job Description

Woolworths Group in Burnie is offering an exciting ‘Internship – IT Intern – Support & Networking’ opportunity. This hands-on internship is perfect for those eager to begin their career in information technology, specifically focusing on IT support and basic networking. No prior professional experience is required; we are looking for individuals with a keen interest in IT, excellent problem-solving skills, and a willingness to embrace new challenges. You will gain practical experience in a dynamic retail environment, working alongside experienced IT professionals to maintain our essential systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to internal staff, troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new computers, peripherals, and software.
- Monitor network performance and connectivity, reporting and escalating issues as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates and backups.
- Document IT processes, solutions, and inventory for knowledge management.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on various projects related to IT infrastructure and system improvements.
- Participate in daily IT operations, learning about service desk procedures and incident management.
