Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Traffic Engineer to join our growing Transportation team in Springwood, QLD. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with limited experience looking to kickstart their career in civil engineering, specifically within traffic and transport. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience in various traffic engineering projects. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with data collection, traffic surveys, and site investigations.
- Support in the preparation of traffic impact assessments and transport planning reports.
- Utilise traffic modelling software (e.g., SIDRA, VISSIM) for basic analysis and simulations under supervision.
- Prepare technical drawings and plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Contribute to the design of traffic management schemes, intersections, and road networks.
- Conduct research on relevant Australian standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Participate in client meetings and project discussions as required.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (recently graduated or completing final year).
- Basic understanding of traffic engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive approach to tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) through coursework or personal projects.
- Familiarity with traffic modelling software (e.g., SIDRA, VISSIM) concepts.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
