Job Description
Are you passionate about public service and ensuring fairness and integrity in community programs? We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Welfare Inspector to join our Public Sector Compliance team. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with no prior experience in welfare inspection, offering comprehensive training and mentorship. You will learn the intricacies of public sector compliance, support the verification of welfare program eligibility, and contribute to the ethical and effective administration of vital community resources. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior inspectors in conducting site visits, interviews, and investigations related to welfare program compliance.
- Learn to review, verify, and process applicant documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Shadow experienced staff during investigations into potential compliance breaches and allegations of fraud.
- Prepare basic reports, summaries of findings, and maintain accurate case records under direct supervision.
- Participate actively in all required training sessions on public sector regulations, welfare policies, and investigative techniques.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with program participants, stakeholders, and other governmental agencies.
- Contribute to team efforts to identify areas for improvement in compliance processes and program efficiency.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new procedures and regulations.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- A strong commitment to public service, ethics, and upholding community trust.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for potential field work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Previous volunteer experience in a community or public service setting.
