Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people but lack formal experience? Uniting AgeWell is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Aged Care Assistants (Trainee) in Bairnsdale. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to start a rewarding career in aged care, providing comprehensive paid training and ongoing support. No prior experience is required; we are looking for individuals with a genuine desire to care for others and a willingness to learn. You will be instrumental in providing person-centred care, assisting residents with daily living activities, and contributing to their overall well-being and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to residents, assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Support residents with meal times, encouraging independence and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship, fostering a stimulating and supportive environment.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional well-being to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including infection control practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs.
