Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and energetic Dispatch Runner to join our logistics team on a casual day roster. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our daily dispatch activities, involving the timely pickup and delivery of packages and documents within a designated local area. Key Responsibilities
- Execute timely pick-up and delivery of packages and documents as dispatched.
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries and pick-ups.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding status updates and any issues encountered.
- Handle packages with care to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with sorting and organizing packages in the dispatch area when needed.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with local Elizabeth, NJ area routes and traffic patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a delivery or courier role (e.g., 6-12 months).
- Experience using GPS navigation and mobile dispatch applications.
