Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and analytically strong Economics Intern to join our Antitrust & Competition Policy team in Oxford. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in applying economic theory to real-world competition issues. You will work alongside leading economists on live projects, contributing to complex investigations, mergers, and regulatory inquiries. This role is ideal for a current student or recent graduate in economics who has a keen interest in competition policy and wants to develop practical skills in economic consulting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed economic research and literature reviews relevant to antitrust cases.
- Performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis using various statistical tools.
- Assisting in the preparation of expert reports, presentations, and client communications.
- Supporting project teams in developing economic models and arguments.
- Contributing to internal research projects and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Learning about regulatory frameworks and market dynamics in different industries.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's or PhD in Economics, Industrial Organisation, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong academic record with a solid understanding of microeconomics, econometrics, and industrial organisation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Stata, R, Python, Excel).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A genuine interest in antitrust and competition policy issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior coursework or projects specifically focused on competition economics or regulation.
