Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised AO4 Program Officer to join the Department of Education in Darwin City. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the successful coordination and delivery of various educational programs and initiatives. This position requires strong administrative skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to supporting the educational goals of the Northern Territory. You will work within a dynamic team environment, providing essential support to senior officers and ensuring the smooth operation of program activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support for educational programs and projects.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and distribute minutes and relevant documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Manage program-related data, records, and information systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including schools, community groups, and other government agencies.
- Monitor program budgets and expenditure, processing invoices and financial transactions.
- Support the planning and execution of program events, workshops, and training sessions.
- Undertake research and gather information to inform program development and evaluation.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in administrative or program support roles.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven capability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience working within a government environment, particularly in education.
- Knowledge of the Northern Territory education system and its operational context.
