Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised AO4 Program Officer to join our dynamic team within the Department of Education. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to various education programs, ensuring their smooth and effective delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating activities, managing information, and communicating with stakeholders to achieve positive educational outcomes for the Northern Territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and logistical support to education programs and projects.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events, including preparing agendas, minutes, and related documentation.
- Prepare, proofread, and disseminate program-related correspondence, reports, presentations, and other materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records, databases, and filing systems.
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including schools, community groups, and other government agencies.
- Assist with basic financial administration tasks, such as processing invoices and monitoring budget expenditure.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of program delivery processes and procedures.
- Respond to general inquiries and provide information related to education programs.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office software.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Proven problem-solving skills and initiative in addressing operational challenges.
- Capacity to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Public Policy, Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience working within a government environment or education sector.
- Familiarity with Northern Territory Government policies and administrative procedures.
- Knowledge of contemporary education issues and practices.
