Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Art Supplies Store Advisor to join our team in Buffalo, NY. As an Art Supplies Store Advisor, you will be at the heart of our store, guiding customers through our extensive range of products, offering expert advice, and helping them find the perfect tools to bring their creative visions to life. This role is ideal for individuals who love art, enjoy interacting with people, and thrive in a creative environment. You will play a crucial role in creating an inspiring and welcoming atmosphere for all our customers, from professional artists to beginners. Full training on our product lines and customer service standards will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers in selecting appropriate art materials and tools for their projects.
- Share product knowledge, demonstrating features and benefits of various art supplies.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Assist with merchandising, including stocking shelves, creating attractive displays, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Answer customer inquiries in person and over the phone, providing information on product availability, pricing, and store policies.
- Support inventory management through receiving, tagging, and organizing new shipments.
- Foster a positive and creative atmosphere within the store, engaging with customers about their artistic pursuits.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn POS systems
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Enthusiasm for art and creative activities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience (1 year preferred)
- Familiarity with various art mediums and techniques
- Background in art, art history, or a related creative field
- Experience with visual merchandising
