Job Description
Capgemini is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team in Glasgow. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform for our diverse client base. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and provide expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a strong understanding of AWS services, architectural best practices, and a passion for continuous learning in the evolving cloud landscape. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and delivering significant value to our clients, ensuring their cloud strategies are aligned with their business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of complex, scalable, and secure AWS cloud solutions.
- Engage with clients to gather requirements, provide technical consultancy, and present architectural proposals.
- Develop detailed architectural designs, including network topologies, security models, data flow diagrams, and service interactions.
- Oversee the implementation and deployment of AWS infrastructure and applications, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide recommendations for optimizing existing AWS environments for performance, cost, and security.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and industry trends to continuously enhance our offerings.
- Mentor junior architects and engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Collaborate with project managers, development teams, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an AWS Solutions Architect or in a similar role designing and implementing cloud solutions on AWS.
- Deep expertise in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, EKS, ECS).
- Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and technical teams.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
- Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and event-driven design patterns.
- Experience working in a consulting environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
