Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Behavioral Psychology Intern to join our academic research team in Moncton. This internship provides a unique opportunity for aspiring researchers to gain hands-on experience in various stages of psychological research, from literature review and data collection to analysis and report preparation. The intern will work closely with faculty members and graduate students, contributing to ongoing studies focused on understanding human behavior, cognitive processes, and social interactions. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a degree in psychology or a related field who are eager to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical research setting and develop essential research skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting literature reviews and synthesizing existing research relevant to ongoing projects.
- Support the design and implementation of research protocols, including survey creation and experimental setup.
- Aid in the recruitment and scheduling of research participants, ensuring ethical guidelines are followed.
- Collect and organize research data using various methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, observational techniques).
- Assist with data entry, cleaning, and preliminary statistical analysis under supervision.
- Contribute to the preparation of research materials, presentations, and reports.
- Maintain meticulous records of research activities and data.
- Participate in team meetings, seminars, and training sessions to enhance research knowledge and skills.
- Provide administrative support to the research team as needed.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Psychology, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
- Strong academic record demonstrating a keen interest in behavioral psychology research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ethical conduct and respect for participant confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, JASP) or willingness to learn.
