Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Boat Builder (Mate) to join our skilled team in Belfast. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about marine craftsmanship who are eager to learn the intricate art of boat building. As a Boat Builder (Mate), you will work alongside experienced professionals, assisting in various stages of boat construction, repair, and finishing. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone looking to launch a career in the marine industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior boat builders with all aspects of boat construction, maintenance, and repair.
  • Learn and apply techniques for fiberglass lamination, woodworking, and composite fabrication.
  • Prepare materials and tools for various tasks, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform sanding, grinding, and finishing work on boat hulls and components.
  • Support fitting out boats with various systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and precision in all tasks.
  • Continuously seek to develop skills and knowledge in boat building techniques.
