Job Description
Are you a highly motivated and physically fit individual looking for a challenging yet rewarding role in the construction industry? Multiplex is seeking dedicated Brickie’s Offsiders to join our dynamic teams on various projects across Melbourne. This role is crucial for supporting our skilled bricklayers, ensuring they have the materials and assistance needed to deliver high-quality work efficiently. While the work is hard and physically demanding, it comes with top pay for those willing to commit and work hard. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry point into the construction trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload bricks, mortar, and other building materials manually and with assistance.
- Prepare mortar mixes according to specifications.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist bricklayers with setting up and dismantling scaffolding as required.
- Fetch tools and equipment for bricklayers.
- Move materials around the site as directed.
- Perform general labouring duties to support the bricklaying team.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina, capable of heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction Induction White Card (mandatory upon commencement, but can be obtained if not held).
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., labouring, warehousing, landscaping).
- Basic understanding of construction site operations.
