Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Bridge Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Prince George, British Columbia. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the design and analysis of various bridge structures and transportation infrastructure projects across the region. As a key member of our bridges and structures group, you will play a crucial role in all phases of project delivery, from conceptual design through to construction support. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design of various bridge types, including steel, concrete, and timber structures.
  • Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, and detailed engineering reports.
  • Develop and review engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including other engineers, drafters, and project managers.
  • Conduct site visits for inspections, investigations, and construction support.
  • Ensure designs comply with Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and other relevant standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and project presentations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in bridge design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, CSIBridge, MIDAS Civil).
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and other relevant Canadian design standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada or eligibility for registration.
  • Experience with various bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects.
  • Familiarity with seismic design principles.
  • Project management experience or training.
