Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete and successfully pass all aspects of our comprehensive driver training program.
  • Learn to operate various types of transit buses safely and efficiently.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to all passengers.
  • Adhere to strict schedules and routes while ensuring passenger comfort and safety.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects.
  • Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Handle passenger inquiries, provide route information, and manage fares.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) Nova Scotia driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Willingness to learn and commit to a comprehensive training program.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capable of understanding and following written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with the Halifax Regional Municipality road network.
