Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in the culinary world but have no prior experience? The Star Gold Coast is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Catering Prep Hands to join our busy kitchen team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment. We operate Monday to Friday, providing a stable work-life balance for our team. Full training will be provided, ensuring you gain valuable skills in food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently after training.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Support the culinary team during service times by ensuring all necessary ingredients are prepped and readily available.
- Dispose of waste responsibly and maintain a tidy waste area.
- Perform general cleaning duties as assigned to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
