Job Description
Are you ready for a truly unique and demanding role that involves heavy travel and physical work? Circus Zyair is seeking resilient and energetic Big Top Setup Laborers to join our dedicated team. This is a hands-on, full-time position involving the physical construction, dismantling, and maintenance of our iconic circus tent and associated equipment. You will be traveling extensively with the circus, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and contributing directly to the spectacle that delights thousands. This role requires significant physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude towards constant change and challenge.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the efficient and safe erection and dismantling of the circus big top tent.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of circus equipment, seating, and stage elements.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on circus infrastructure as needed.
- Operate various tools and machinery under supervision, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Support the logistics team in the setup of other site facilities (fencing, concessions, etc.).
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse team to meet tight deadlines.
- Travel regularly across the UK with the touring circus schedule.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly.
- Willingness to travel extensively and live on the road.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, outdoor labor, or event setup.
- Experience with manual handling and heavy lifting techniques.
- Full UK driving license (especially HGV Class 1 or 2 is a bonus).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
