Job Description
Ventia is seeking motivated and hardworking Civil Labourers to join our ongoing projects in Byron Bay. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for stable, full-time employment within the civil construction sector, with the potential for visa sponsorship for eligible candidates. As a Civil Labourer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our civil construction teams, performing a variety of physical tasks to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals keen to start or further their career in civil construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons and machine operators on various civil construction sites.
- Perform general site duties including manual excavation, trenching, and backfilling.
- Handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment safely across the site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including site clean-up and waste removal.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Support the team in achieving project milestones and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labour.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
- A strong commitment to safety and an understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
- Basic understanding of construction site operations (advantageous but not essential).
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian 'White Card' (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one prior to commencing.
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
- Previous experience in a similar labouring role, even if minimal.
- First Aid certification (desirable).
