Job Description

The City of Lancaster is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Civil Service Typist / Word Processor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in public service. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our administrative operations by performing various typing and word processing tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately type, format, and edit a variety of documents, reports, letters, and memos.
  • Utilize word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) to create and modify documents.
  • Proofread documents for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Assist with general administrative duties as needed, such as data entry and correspondence.
