Job Description
Join Workshop Coffee as a Roastery Production Assistant and become an integral part of our dynamic roasting team in Hendon. This role is perfect for an early riser with a keen eye for detail and a passion for crafting exceptional coffee. You’ll support all stages of the roasting process, from preparing green beans to packing and dispatching our freshly roasted coffee.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of green coffee beans, including weighing and loading for roasting.
- Support roasters during the roasting process, ensuring smooth operation of machinery.
- Operate packaging equipment to bag and seal roasted coffee, adhering to quality standards.
- Label and prepare coffee orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organised roastery environment, including cleaning equipment and work areas.
- Monitor stock levels of green beans, packaging materials, and finished products.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and food hygiene standards.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Ability to start early and maintain consistent attendance.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Physical stamina for lifting, standing, and moving heavy bags of coffee (up to 25kg).
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and following instructions.
- Proactive and eager to learn new skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment (e.g., 6+ months).
- An interest in specialty coffee and the roasting process.
- Experience operating light machinery or packaging equipment.
