Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Cold Store Pickers to join our team in Maryborough. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately picking and packing chilled and frozen products within our cold storage facility. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work comfortably and safely in cold conditions. You’ll be contributing directly to ensuring our customers receive fresh, high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack chilled and frozen products according to order requirements in a cold store environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks and order pickers safely and efficiently (training provided where necessary).
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the cold storage facility.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and food hygiene policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including stock rotation and cycle counting.
- Report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and safely in a cold environment (temperatures down to -20°C with provided protective gear).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in picking tasks.
- Physical fitness to lift, carry, and move items regularly throughout a shift.
- Proven reliability and punctuality with a strong commitment to attendance.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cold storage environment.
- Prior experience operating MHE (Material Handling Equipment) such as electric pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Current driver's license and reliable personal transport.
