Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Comic Book & Hobby Store Cashier to join our team. In this relaxed environment, you’ll be the face of our store, assisting customers with purchases, answering questions, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant shopping experience. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for pop culture, comics, or hobbies, who enjoys interacting with people and maintaining an organized retail space. Full training will be provided, so prior experience isn’t strictly necessary – just a great attitude!
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately using our POS system (cash, credit/debit, gift cards).
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products or answering general inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and sales floor.
- Assist with stocking shelves, arranging displays, and keeping merchandise tidy.
- Handle customer returns and exchanges efficiently and politely.
- Provide basic product information and make recommendations based on customer interests.
- Support the team with opening and closing procedures as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
- Reliable and punctual.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- A genuine interest in comic books, graphic novels, tabletop games, or general pop culture/hobbies.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role (even if not in a comic/hobby shop).
- Familiarity with various payment methods and POS systems.
