Job Description
Join Uniting NSW.ACT as a Community Care Assistant in Bathurst and make a real difference in the lives of elderly and vulnerable individuals. This rewarding role offers flexible hours to suit your lifestyle and includes paid travel between clients. You will provide essential support, companionship, and practical assistance, enabling our clients to maintain their independence and comfort within their homes and community. No prior experience is necessary if you possess a compassionate heart, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to helping others. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed in this vital role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care (showering, dressing) and mobility support.
- Provide domestic assistance such as light household chores, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to reduce isolation.
- Administer medication reminders as required.
- Support clients with transport to appointments, social outings, and errands.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or well-being.
- Maintain clear and accurate client records.
Required Skills
- Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Commitment to client privacy and dignity.
- Right to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Experience in a care-giving role (personal or professional).
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping.
