Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and community-focused individual to join our team as a Community Center Assistant. This role offers flexible hours to accommodate various schedules and is perfect for someone passionate about public service and community development. You will play a vital role in the daily operations of our community centers, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment for all visitors and participants. Your work will directly support the successful delivery of programs and services that enrich the lives of Muncie residents. While some experience is beneficial, we prioritize a strong work ethic and a commitment to serving our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist community center visitors, providing information about programs and services.
- Manage program registrations, facility bookings, and general inquiries.
- Handle phone calls and correspondence in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, offices, and program spaces.
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and supervision as needed.
- Support program coordinators with administrative tasks, material preparation, and participant tracking.
- Monitor facility usage and ensure adherence to safety guidelines and policies.
- Process payments and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service or administrative support.

- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
