Job Description

Martin Marietta is offering a unique opportunity for highly motivated individuals to become Concrete Mixer Truck Drivers through our fully paid CDL/HGV licensing and training program. This trainee position is designed for individuals with no prior commercial driving experience who are eager to learn and grow with a leader in the construction materials industry. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training to obtain your Class A or B CDL, learn safe vehicle operation, and master the specifics of concrete delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all aspects of the CDL/HGV training program to obtain required licensing.
  • Learn and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on concrete mixer trucks to ensure safe operation.
  • Under supervision, operate a concrete mixer truck to transport and deliver ready-mix concrete to construction sites.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, vehicle reports, and delivery documentation.
  • Learn proper techniques for loading, transporting, and unloading concrete.
  • Provide excellent customer service, interacting professionally with dispatch, plant personnel, and customers.
  • Clean and maintain the mixer drum and exterior of the truck after each delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operational status and safety concerns.

Required Skills

  • Valid standard driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (DOT requirement).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and overtime.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work environment.
