Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in construction but have no prior experience? PCL Construction is excited to offer an incredible opportunity for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Construction Labourer. We believe in investing in our people, which is why we’re providing comprehensive, full training and all necessary safety certifications. This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to learn the fundamentals of the construction industry from the ground up, contribute to significant projects in Vancouver, and build a lasting career path. Safety is our top priority, and you’ll be fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to work confidently and securely on our job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons with various tasks on construction sites.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare and clean construction sites, including debris removal and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision, after receiving proper training.
- Perform basic site duties such as digging, sweeping, and general upkeep.
- Learn and adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure project completion.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced team members.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Good physical condition and stamina to perform manual labour tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- No prior construction experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (asset, not required).
- Basic understanding of construction safety principles (full training will be provided regardless).
- Experience working in an outdoor environment.
