Job Description
Are you an energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys hands-on work? FedEx Ground is seeking a dedicated Conveyor Belt Jam Clearer to ensure the seamless flow of packages through our New Orleans distribution center. In this active role, you will be responsible for quickly and safely identifying and resolving conveyor belt jams, minimizing downtime, and contributing to our overall operational efficiency. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking an entry-level position with a reputable company.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly identify and clear package jams on conveyor belts and sortation systems.
- Operate within strict safety guidelines and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Monitor package flow to anticipate potential issues and take proactive measures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operational issues or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed, including sorting, loading, and unloading.
- Perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs frequently.
