Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Court Bailiff / Security Officer to join our team, serving within the judicial system in Santa Clara, CA. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safety and security of court personnel, visitors, and property, as well as maintaining order during court proceedings. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing court rules, providing security escorts, and responding to emergency situations. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain order and decorum in courtrooms and court facilities.
- Provide security for judges, court staff, and the public.
- Conduct security screenings and enforce access control policies.
- Escort individuals in custody as required.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide first-line intervention.
- Monitor security systems, including cameras and alarms.
- Prepare detailed incident reports.
- Assist in the apprehension and detention of individuals in accordance with legal procedures.
- Serve as a visible deterrent to potential security threats.
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies as needed.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid California Guard Card (BSIS).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Proficiency in de-escalation techniques.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and respond to emergencies for extended periods.
- Knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology (preferred, but training provided).
- Clean criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Prior experience as a Court Officer, Bailiff, or Law Enforcement Officer.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Advanced security training or certifications.
