Job Description
Are you eager to start a career in the dynamic world of craft brewing? Boss Brewing Co. is seeking an enthusiastic and physically fit individual to join our team as an Entry Level Cellar Person. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with no prior experience to learn the fundamentals of brewery operations from the ground up. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day production process, primarily focusing on the essential ‘wet work’ of cleaning and sanitation, as well as the ‘heavy lifting’ involved in moving kegs and materials. Full training will be provided to ensure you gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this role. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of fermentation vessels, bright tanks, kegs, and other brewery equipment.
- Assist with the transfer of beer between tanks.
- Handle and move full and empty kegs, casks, and pallets of raw materials (requiring significant heavy lifting).
- Operate cleaning-in-place (CIP) systems safely and effectively.
- Monitor beer quality parameters under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment in the cellar and other production areas.
- Assist the Head Brewer and other team members with various tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and brewery procedures.
Required Skills
- No prior brewing experience required – full training will be provided.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly (e.g., 25kg+).
- Willingness to work in a wet, cold, and sometimes noisy environment.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in craft beer and the brewing process.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Valid UK driving license.
