Job Description

Are you passionate about coffee and creating memorable experiences? The Coffee Club in Coffs Harbour is seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Morning Barista to join our team for part-time day work. This role is perfect for an early riser who loves the buzz of a busy cafe and takes pride in crafting the perfect cup. You’ll be responsible for preparing a variety of coffee beverages, interacting with customers, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Full training on our specific processes and menu will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational barista skills looking to grow within a well-established brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, latte, cappuccino, and flat white, to The Coffee Club's high standards.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
  • Handle customer orders and payments accurately, using our POS system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and cafe area.
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Assist with opening duties, including setting up the coffee station and preparing for service.
  • Monitor coffee bean and milk stock, reporting low levels to management.
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a barista or in a similar fast-paced hospitality role (minimum 6 months).
  • Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and latte art.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends.
  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Food Safety Certificate (e.g., Food Handler certificate).
  • Experience with various coffee bean types and roasting profiles.
  • Familiarity with The Coffee Club's menu and brand standards.
