Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for biohazard cleanup services.
- Assess and prepare incident sites for remediation, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Execute meticulous cleaning, decontamination, and sanitization of crime scenes, trauma sites, and other biohazard areas.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with all local and national regulations.
- Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment and tools.
- Document all cleanup procedures, materials used, and conditions found, maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients, showing respect and professionalism at all times.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs.
Required Skills
- No prior experience in biohazard cleanup is required – full training will be provided.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for emergency response.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Emotional resilience and a mature, empathetic approach to sensitive situations.
- A clean criminal record check is essential for security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation (due to on-call nature and varied sites).
- Basic First Aid or Emergency Response certification (training can be provided if not held).
- Previous experience in a role requiring discretion, empathy, or physical demanding tasks (e.g., security, care work, construction).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly COSHH.
