Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Ice Sculpture Setup Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in bringing our stunning ice artworks to life at various event venues. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are reliable, physically capable, and eager to learn the intricate art of ice sculpture setup and maintenance. You will work closely with our lead sculptors and technicians, primarily in cold environments, ensuring the safe transport, assembly, and presentation of our delicate creations. No prior experience in ice sculpting is required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead sculptors with the careful loading, unloading, and transportation of ice blocks and finished sculptures.
- Aid in the precise assembly and placement of ice sculptures and displays at event locations, following design specifications.
- Learn and perform basic maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and polishing of ice surfaces during events.
- Ensure all work areas at our studio and event sites are kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, especially when working in cold conditions and handling heavy materials.
- Prepare necessary tools, equipment, and cold-weather gear for each installation.
- Participate in the efficient breakdown and removal of ice displays post-event.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly and safely.
- Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Reliable transportation to our studio in Danbury, CT, and various event venues throughout the region.
- A positive team player with good communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to unique challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in event setup, production, or logistics.
- Experience working in a warehouse or manual labor environment.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment operation.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
