Job Description
Join the dynamic team at Midwest Event Solutions as a Crowd Control Barrier Setup Crew member. This role involves significant physical labor to safely and efficiently transport, set up, and dismantle crowd control barriers at various event venues across the Omaha metropolitan area. You will play a crucial part in ensuring public safety and order at exciting local events. Full training on equipment handling, setup procedures, and safety protocols will be provided. This position requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, often in varying weather conditions and sometimes with irregular hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload crowd control barriers and related equipment from delivery vehicles.
- Transport barriers manually or using appropriate equipment to designated setup locations on event sites.
- Accurately set up and connect crowd control barriers according to event layout plans and supervisor instructions.
- Ensure all barriers are stable, secure, and properly positioned for optimal crowd management and safety.
- Dismantle and stack barriers efficiently post-event, preparing them for transport.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and supporting fellow crew members.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing Midwest Event Solutions at client sites.
Required Skills
- Exceptional physical stamina and strength, capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 75 lbs).
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- A strong work ethic and a reliable, punctual approach to scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all operational guidelines.
- Reliable transportation to our warehouse or designated event sites within the Omaha metropolitan area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a physically demanding role such as construction, warehousing, or general labor is a plus.
- Experience working in an event or production environment is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
