Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Customs & Border Protection Assistants. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity to begin a rewarding career in national security and law enforcement. Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive, paid academy training to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. You will be instrumental in safeguarding the UK’s borders, working to prevent illegal immigration, smuggling, and other cross-border crimes. No prior experience in border protection or law enforcement is required, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively and successfully complete all modules of the paid academy training program.
- Learn to identify and intercept prohibited and restricted goods, including illegal drugs, weapons, and counterfeit items.
- Develop skills in interviewing individuals, assessing travel documents, and verifying identities.
- Assist in the processing of passengers and goods at various entry points into the UK.
- Learn to apply relevant legislation and procedures related to customs and immigration.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with team members and other law enforcement agencies.
- Respond effectively to incidents and emergency situations under supervision.
Required Skills
- Must be a British Citizen.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a security clearance and background check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures.
- Good physical fitness as required for operational duties.
- A valid UK driving license or willingness to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer service or public-facing roles.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
- Basic IT literacy skills.
- An understanding of UK geography and current affairs.
