Job Description

Join SA Water as a Dam Maintenance Crew member, playing a critical role in the upkeep and integrity of vital water infrastructure across regional South Australia. This physically demanding but rewarding position involves hands-on work to inspect, maintain, and repair various components of our dam systems. You will work as part of a dedicated team, contributing directly to the reliability and safety of water supply for communities. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped for the tasks at hand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of dam structures, spillways, and surrounding areas.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks including vegetation management, debris removal, and minor structural repairs.
  • Operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
  • Report any anomalies, damage, or potential hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Participate in emergency response activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand/power tools.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
  • Right to work in Australia.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, laboring, civil maintenance, or a related field.
  • First Aid certification.
  • White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
  • Experience operating small plant machinery (e.g., excavators, skid steers).
